Abstract A CAPACITOR DISCONNECT DEVICE IN WHICH A PLASTIC COVER FOR THE CAPACITOR CASING HAS A CENTRAL PART JOINED BY FLEXIBLE PORTIONS OR HINGES TO THE REST OF THE OVER AND WHICH IS EXPANDABLY DISTORED AND CAUSES AN OPEN IN THE CURRENT FLOW OF THE CAPACITOR UPON AN UNSAFE ACCUMULATION OF PRESSURE WITHIN THE CAPACITOR HOUSING.
