Abstract THE APPARATUS INCLUDES AN IMMERSED OBSTANCE HAVING A VERTICAL SYMMETRICAL ROTATIONAL AXIS, AND MOUNTED ON A ROD HAVING A SLIGHT BEND UNDER WATER PRESSURE ON THE OBSTACLE. THE DIRECTION OF BEND OF THE ROD BY SUCH WATER PRESSURE WHICH IS CAUSED BY THE MOVEMENT OF THE WAVES, IS MEASURED BY SUITABLE RECORDING MEANS.
