Abstract
Abstract 1,265,177. Bearings. TORRINGTON CO. 2 Dec., 1969 [3 Dec., 1968], No. 58769/69. Heading F2A. A combined radial and axial thrust roller bearing assembly comprises a shaft 6 to which is secured an annular spacer member 7 with oppositely facing thrust surfaces contacting rollers 8, the shaft being provided with inner race portions for the rollers, and internally flanged outer race members 10 telescoped over the rollers and secured together by a ring 13, the flanges 11 serving to confine the rollers axially. The ring 13 is brazed, welded, or otherwise bonded to recesses in the outer race members 10. The member 7 is spot welded to the shaft. The members 10 may carry seals 18, 20.
