Reactive azo dyestuffs containing a thiophene dioxide
Abstract
Abstract The invention comprises dyestuffs containing a reactive radical of the formula <FORM:1123388/C4-C5/1> where X and Y are hydrogen or halogen, at least one of X and Y being halogen linked to a chromogenic residue via an SO2NH radical. Preferred dyestuffs have the formula <FORM:1123388/C4-C5/2> where n is 1-4, Y is H or Cl and the chromogen is the residue of an azo, metallized azo, anthraquionone or phthalocyanine dye. These compounds are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula <FORM:1123388/C4-C5/3> with the corresponding amino substituted dyestuff, or with a coupling or diazo component of an azo dyestuff which is then converted to the azo dyestuff.ALSO:2,3 - Dichloro - benzothiophendioxide - 6 - sulphochloride is prepared by reacting 2,3-dichlorobenzothiophendioxide with chlorosulphonic acid. The product is reacted with 2,4-diaminobenzene-sulphonic acid in an aqueous sodium acetate solution, and, after neutralization with sodium carbonate there is obtained the compound of the formula <FORM:1123388/C2/1>
