Abstract

Abstract 1302774 Lampholders GTE SYLVANIA Inc 14 July 1970 [14 July 1969] 34193/70 Heading H2E A lampholder 14 for accommodating a lamp 12 with prong-type terminals and a lamp locking and ejecting arrangement comprises a lever 32 pivotally mounted with spaced locking tabs 40 and ejecting tabs 42 disposed above and below a ledge 75 (Fig. 2) on the lamp. A spring 56 operates on the lever in that locked position (Fig. 1) to hold the locking tabs against the top of ledge 75. Downwards movement of the protruding lever 32 disengages the locking tabs and engages the ejecting tabs with the ledge 75 thereby ejecting the lamp (Fig. 2), until the hooks 58 engage the ears 44, then the spring no longer applies torque to the lever 32. To insert a lamp the lever must be in the lampejected position initially. The centre portion of the torsion spring 56 is anchored by a pivot (50, Fig. 3, not shown) secured to side compartment 30. The body of the lamp holder 14 is made of a refractory material and mounted on the interconnecting yoke section (16, Fig. 3, not shown) with an insulation pad (70) positioned therebetween. The lamp holder is retained in position by bolts passing through the slots (26, Fig. 4, not shown) in the mounting tabs (24, Fig. 4, not shown).
