Abstract
Abstract 1,248,807. Pinning of film. CELANESE CORP. 4 March, 1969 [5 March, 1968], No. 11329/69. Heading B5B. [Also in Division H1] An electrode, used to electrostatically pin hot thermoplastic film to a moving surface, is heated to a temperature above the condensation temperature of the film vapours. The electrode may comprise a wire electrode, a pair of pointed wires, a number of wires arranged perpendicular to the film, or a knife-edged member, and may be heated by electrical means. The pinning of hot polyethylene terephthalate film to a casting drum is exemplified.
