Abstract
Abstract A circuit for controlling the application of firing pulses to a controlled device in a static converter employed for example, in H.V.D.C. schemes. The circuit comprises an oscillator for developing these pulses and having an output frequency dependent on an input signal which is a function of any difference between the actual and desired values of a selected quantity possesed by the A.C. or the D.C. system whereby to influence the pulse frequency and control the firing angle "alpha" of the controlled devices in such a sense as to reduce the difference towards zero.
