Abstract 1,115,157. Liquefied gas storage containers. ISHIKAWAJIMA-HARIMA JUKOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. 31 May, 1966 [31 May, 1965], No. 24094/66. Heading F4P. A liquefied gas, e.g. methane, storage container is constructed of prefabricated rectangular panels 6, Fig. 4, each comprising an inner liquid contacting metal plate 5 having an outer heat insulating lining 2 covered by a layer of concrete or plastic material reinforced by round bar meshwork 8 spaced from the plate 5 by a corrugated metal sheet 7 welded to the plate 5 and mesh 8; the projecting edges of mesh 8 and plate 5 being connected to those of adjacent panels during construction of the tank by welding thereto metal strips 11, 5<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 5. The gap between the adjacent edges are sealed by insulation material 2 and concrete 9<SP>1</SP>.
A LOW TEMPERATURE FLUID STORAGE TANK, COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF INDIVIDUAL UNITS, EACH OF SAID UNITS COMPRISING A SECTION OF INSULATING MATERIAL, A CONSTRUCTION LAYER ADJACENT SAID INSULATING MATERIAL, A BAR EXTENDING THROUGH AND BEYOND SAID CONSTRUCTION LAYER, AND MEANS FOR SECURING THE ENDS OF ADJACENT ONES OF SAID BARS FOR JOINING ADJACENT ONES OF SAID UNITS, TO THEREBY FORM SAID TANK.
