[Also in Division G3] A collet for fixing the inner end of a timepiece balance spring 4 comprises an inner ring 1 provided with an axial extension 3 and an outer ring 2 rotatable about the inner ring, the outer ring having an axially extending flange 5 so that after placing the inner end of the spring against the outer face of the extension and rotating the outer ring, the spring is clamped between the extension and the flange when the latter are radially aligned. The rings 1 and 2 are preferably made from brass and steel respectively and the spring 4 may or may not have a bent end portion 6. The flange 5 and the extension 3 preferably form 60 and 30 degree segments respectively of the rings but the extension may form a segment less than 30 degrees in which case the spring 4 is additionally glued to the extension.
