Refill hose mounting clip
Abstract
Abstract 1,152,076. Clips: flushing cisterns. A. SCHOEPE and F. E. SCHMUCK. 3 May, 1967 [23 June, 1966], No. 20432/67. Headings E1C and E2B. A clip (Fig. 4) for mounting the end of a 'flexible tube on the end of a pipe so that the two ends are spaced, e.g. in a toilet cistern, Fig. 1, includes an axially-split hollow cylinder 30 for disposal within the tube end, the corners 38 at one end of the split 36 being outwardly turned to provide tube-engaging points. A tongue 42 and a plate 40, from which the tongue is struck, form pipe engaging means, the plate being insertable into the pipe end whilst the tongue is formed with a bifurcated, inturned, free end for engagement with the pipe exterior. The plate 40 has a shallow W- shaped cross-section. The clip may be of stainless steel. In the illustrated cistern, the clip maintains the ends 26 and 20 of a refill hose 16 and an overflow tube 22 respectively in the configuration shown. When the ball cock float 54 is below the position shown and valve 56 is consequently open, water flows, not only to refill the cistern, but also through hose 16 to tube 22 to refill the toilet trap.
