5 : A device for removing material from a body lumen, the device comprising: a catheter having a proximal end, a distal end, and a catheter lumen extending therethrough; a cutter assembly, the cutter assembly comprising: a ferrule; a cylindrical housing; and a cutter, the cutter comprising a proximal cutter portion having a shaft and a distal cutter portion mounted around the shaft of the proximal cutter portion, and wherein the ferrule has a distal bearing surface configured to bear against a proximal surface of the cutter; and a torque shaft extending through the catheter lumen and coupled to the cutter for rotating the cutter relative to the catheter.
