Arrangement for drilling bones
Abstract
Abstract Translated from Russian 1. This invention relates to medicine, in particular to surgical instruments. The purpose of the invention is to reduce the morbidity when making holes in the bone by preventing chips from entering the surgical field. The device has a conical chamber 1 with a base in the form of a disk 2 with slots 3, the jumpers between which are bent in the form of propeller blades, the cutting element 4 in the form of a drill 8 with a shank 9 and a longitudinal groove 10, a tube 5 with a bell 6 and end teeth 7. The disk 2 has a protrusion 11, and the tube is installed in the chamber on the sliding bearing 12. The rotating drill 8 is moved to the bone to be treated. In this case, the tube 5, abutting the teeth 7 into the bone, does not rotate, and the chamber 1, with the aid of the protrusion 11, which is engaged with the groove 10, comes into rotation. Shavings resulting from drilling under the action of air flow and centrifugal forces accumulate in the conical chamber 1.
