Abstract
Abstract The heat exchange surfaces of the plates have corrugations in the form of upwardly pressed ridges with intervening depressions. When assembled, the corrugations in adjacent plates cross each other, forming a grid of regularly distributed support points for the plate exchange surfaces. A number of the plates have connections between the ridges, which have a width less than a dimension defined by the formula a/2 cos alpha in which a is the perpendicular distance between the tops of two adjacent ridges, and alpha is the angle between the extent of the ridges and the length of the connections.
