Fibrous strip impregnation equipment - delivers fluid into bath at point where strip emerges from it
Abstract
Abstract Appts. impregnates and particularly mercerises a strip of fibrous material, having a bath extending in the travel direction of the strip and containing rollers by which the strip is guided into contact with the impregnating agent in it. The bath has a feed and discharge for the agent. Fluid is delivered to the bath at the point where the strip emerges from it, and discharged at the inlet point for the strip. Means are provided in the bath to guide the fluid at right angles to the strip between inlet and outlet. The bath can be divided into compartments so interconnected that a current is generated at right angles to the strip travel direction.
