Propeller pitch regulation system - has control unit receiving signals representing rated and actual pitch and engine power
Abstract
Abstract The system regulates the blade pitch of an adjustable propeller, the blades being coupled to a hydraulically-actuated pitch adjusting rod, and also to the driving engine. A valve controls the fluid flow to and from the rod, which is coupled to a position indicator. The indicator is connected to a pressure source, so as to show a pressure indicating the instantaneous pitch of the blades. the engine has means for indicating the power delivered to the propeller. A control unit receives the signal proportional to the rated and actual pitch of the blades and to the engine power, and delivers a command signal to the valve controlling the position of the rod.
