Abstract
Abstract Construction method for roadways, dykes, etc. comprises laying a sand foundation stabilised with a hardening agent e.g. cement, and applying a capping layer of asphalt 5-20 cm. thick contg. a reinforcement which may be steel mesh or (pref.) synth. fibres, fleeces or fabrics. The reinforcement may be treated with a bonding agent to promote adhesion to the asphalt e.g. montan resin, tall resin, colophony. Prefd. reinforcement is coarse mesh polyester fabric.
