Pyron-3-carboxamide compound and herbicide

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (when R<1> is 2-11C alkyl, R<2>-R<4> are lower alkenyl, formyl, etc.; R<5> is H, halogen, etc.; R<6> is 1-11C alkyl, lower alkynyl, etc.; when R1 is aryl which may be substituted, R<2>-R<4> substituted, R2-R4 are lower alkynyl, arylthio, etc.; R<5> is H< 1-11C alkyl, etc.; R<6> is 1-11C alkyl, cycloalkyl, etc.). EXAMPLE:N-(4-Allyl-2, 6-diethylphenyl)-6-methyl-4-oxo-2-propyl-4H-pyran-3-carbo xamide. USE:A herbicide. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II (R1 is dialkylamino, n is integer of 0-6) is reacted with a diketene expressed by formula III in solvent such as xylene at -20-130 deg.C to provide the compound expressed by formula I (R<5> is H; R<6> is methyl). The compound expressed by formula I is obtained e.g. by subjecting a compound expressed by formula IV to dehydrating condensa tion with an amide expressed by the formula R<7>-(CH2)n-NH2.
