Production of ceramic superconductive material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To produce the title superconductive material with excellent superconductive properties and improved processability by solidifying a melted feedstock for ceramic superconductor by rapid cooling. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of individual oxides and/or carbonates of Ln (Ln is Y, Lu, Yb, Tm, Er, Ho, Dy, Se), Ba, Cu or a calcined product thereof, as a feedstock for ceramic superconductor, is melted, then rapidly cooled to solid by blowing or bubbling oxygen, or by melting the mixture S in a crucible 1 with electric heaters 2 and extruding out from nozzle 3 onto the water-cooled rotary drum 4 so that the Vd/Vs ratio ranges from 1.0 to 1.5 and the flowing angle is from 20-30 deg., when the peripheral speed of the drum 4 and the flow speed of the melted mixture are represented by Vd and Vs to form a strip or string of ceramic superconductive material L.
