Temperature sensor for chemical liquid
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent chemicals from touching the main body of a sensor directly and to prevent the pollution of the chemicals, by providing a double cover being resistant to the chemicals and by outputting an alarm when an outer cover is damaged. CONSTITUTION:The main body of a temperature sensor has a temperature- measuring resisting substance or a thermocouple 1 inside, and it is packed with magnesium oxide for insulating the thermocouple and covered with stainless steel 2 for sheathing. After an inside Teflon cover 3a is put thereon and sealed closely, an outside 'Teflon(R)' cover 3b is put further thereon to prevent the infiltration of chemicals. Next, electrodes 6a and 6b having chemical resistance are inserted between the covers 3a and 3b, and a seal 4 of a silicon tube or the like is applied to all of these elements together. A part in front of the seal is to be put in the chemicals. Lead wires 7a and 7b for detecting the chemicals, which are connected to the electrodes 6a and 6b for giving an alarm when the chemicals break the cover 3b and infiltrate therethrough, and temperature sensor lead wires 5a and 5b, are led out of the rear end of the main body of the sensor.
