Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent unnecessary photographing and unnecessary power consumption, by performing the image pickup operation only after a memory is surely connected to a camera and a video signal is recordable. CONSTITUTION: When a memory 90 is set to a camera 10 by a connector 14, a connection detecting circuit 80 detects setting of the memory 90 through a connector 16. Then, a power supply circuit 58 can be connected to a control circuit 24, and power is supplied from the power supply circuit 58 to the control circuit 24 when an operator turns on a power switch 70. The control circuit 24 to which power is supplied operates an image pickup part 12 of a shutter 20 or the like. Consequently, since photographing is not performed unless the memory 90 is correctly set, unnecessary photographing is prevented. Since power is not supplied to the control circuit 24 unless setting of the memory 90 is detected, unnecessary power consumption is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
