Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To safely and surely perform incision by catching the incision state by a water jet knife as a tomographic image by an ultrasonic wave, by arranging the incision axis of the water jet knife in the tomographic image of an ultrasonic converting element. CONSTITUTION:The jet direction of the saline solution injected from a jet orifice 5, that is, the incision axis (a) of a water jet knife 4 is almost parallel to the scanning direction (b) of the ultrasonic wave of an ultrasonic wave converting element 2 and positioned in the tomographic image obtained by the ultrasonic wave. As a result, since the incision state of a living body by the water jet knife 4 can always be observed along with the tomographic image displayed on a display apparatus 14, the incision of the living body can be well performed without bringing about such a danger that a region unnecessary for incision such as normal tissue is cut excessively.
