Sorter which possesses automatic binding function

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the copying processing speed and reliability by memorizing the presence of sheets in bins which are assortment-accommodated and carrying out the sheet binding by an automatic binding means from the lowermost layer in a plurality of bins. CONSTITUTION:In case of copying, for example, in five pieces, the copying sheets 6 for the original sheets 4a-4d are assortment-accommodated into accommodating bins 8a-8e, and when said assortment-accommodation is completed, all the accommodating bins shift to the position where the copying sheets 6 are accommodated into the bin 8e. Then, a stapler 10 shifts horizontally to the position (j), and in order to carry out the sheet binding for the sheet 6 of the copying sheets 6 accommodated into the accommodating bin 8e, the stapler 10 advances in the direction (l) and binding is performed, and then returns to the position (j). Then, all the bins are lowered successively by one stage in the direction (i) and the bundle of the copying sheets 6 accommodated in the bins 8d, 8c...8a are bound similarly. Thus, the copying processing speed and reliability can be improved.
