Production of color filter

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To form color patterns without having misregistrations at all in the apertures of a shadow mask by using negative type photosensitive compsns. contg. dyes or pigments for light transmittable colored layers and exposing said layers from the rear face of a transparent substrate, thereby insolubilizing the negative type photosensitive compsn. CONSTITUTION:The light transmission type colored layers of red, green, blue, etc., are formed by repeating the operations consisting in subjecting a photosensitive layer 50, which is formed by using the photosensitive compsn., to pattern exposing and developing to form a light shielding layer 5, then applying the photosensitive compsn. 61 for the colored layer thereon to form a photosensitive layer 6, exposing the photosensitive layer 6 thus formed by using a pattern 52 from the transparent substrate 2 side on which the photosensitive layer 6 is not formed, and developing said photosensitive layer. The light shielding layers and the light transmission type colored layers are thereby formed on the same plane without having misregistrations at all. In addition, the photosensitive layers are exposed from the rear side and, therefore, the formation of the colored layers in the state of overlapping the color patterns on said light shielding layers is obviated. The color filter is thus easily formed.
