Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve various characteristics such as antistatic property, traveling durability and electromagnetic conversion characteristics by incorporating a specific copolymer into a primer coating layer. CONSTITUTION:The primer coating layer is provided on a nonmagnetic base and a magnetic layer formed by dispersing ferromagnetic powder into a binder is provided thereon. The copolymer of at least one kind of the vinyl monomers having the aminoalkyl groups expressed by formulas I-III and at least one kind selected from vinyl monomers copolymerizable with said vinyl monomers is incorporated into the primer coating layer. In formulas, R<1>-R<3> denote a monovalent hydrocarbon group of 1-6C; R<4> denotes a divalent hydrocarbon group of 1-6C; R<5> denotes a hydrogen atom, methyl group; X denotes -CO2-, -CONH-, -NHCONH-, -NHCO2; A<-> (a round mark is hereafter abbreviated) is Cl<->, Br<->, O<->PO3R<6>, O<->SO2R<6>; R<6> is a monovalent hydrocarbon group of 1-6C; B<-> is -CO2<->, -OPO3<->, -NO2<->, -NO2<->; (n) is 1-4. The content of the vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the vinyl monomers having the aminoalkyl group is 0.5-50wt.%.
