Device for synthesizing secam signal and character signal

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of a picture noise by removing a high frequency component, synthesizing a character signal with a carrier chrominance signal in the video signal of a SECAM system, switching this synthesizing signal and the color video signal of the SECAM system and displaying a character picture on a tube face. CONSTITUTION:The generating source 4 of the video signal of the SECAM system, a character generating source 5 for generating the character signal and a character gate signal and a low pass filter 9 for removing the high frequency component of the character signal are provided. Further, a circuit 13 for extracting the carrier chrominance signal from the video signal and synthesizing the character signal outputted from the low pass filter 9 with the carrier chrominance signal and a circuit 12 for switching whether the video signal is outputted or the synthesizing signal from the synthesizing circuit 13 is outputted according to the character gate signal are provided. The character signal C from which the high frequency component is removed by the low pass filter 9 is synthesized with the carrier chrominance signal of the video signal V of the SECAM system. Thereby, a clear tube face display character having no ugly color in an edge part is obtained.
