Scroll compressor
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce noise in an arrangement wherein an end plate of a rotary scroll is supported freely rotatably via a multiplicity of balls retained with a retainer with a block by providing the retainer with a shock absorbing member for restricting the radial and axial movements of the retainer. CONSTITUTION:When a shaft 11 is rotated by the drive of a motor section 2, a rotary scroll 5, without making rotation, turns about the center of an involute of a fixed scroll 4, compresses refrigerant drawn from a suction port 9 and delivers it out of a delivery port 8. Between an end plate 5a and a block 3 of the rotary scroll 5 are arranged a multiplicity of balls 15 which are housed in holes formed in a retainer 20. In a compressor of such a constitution, a shock absorbing member 21 formed with a material such as tetrafluoroethylene is fixed to the outer circumference of the retainer 20 to prevent the retainer 20 from coming into contact with a guide part 3a and a flat part 3b of the block 3 and the end plate 5a.
