Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make the constitution of the title reader/writer simpler, to discharge the card at the time of reading information, and to prevent the data from damage during data communications by giving the discharging function of the card to a power source switch. CONSTITUTION:A main body case 2 having a card inserting port, a shoot 16, whose front part projects from the inside of the main body case 2 through the card inserting port and which holds the card, and a cover 19 to close the card inserting port at the time of housing the shoot 16 into the main body case 2 are provided. Further, the reader/writer is composed of a lock lever to lock the cover 19 in a closed condition, and a power source switch 22 having the function to release the lock by operating the lock lever. Thus, the lock of the cover 19 is released through the lock lever with the operation of the power source switch 22, and the discharge of the card is also attained.
