Developing device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a developer from falling from a development container by rotating a developing roller in its rotation direction at the time of development, and scraping and recovering a developer which gathers at the lower edge part of the opening part of the development container. CONSTITUTION:When developing devices 18 and 19 are used for a long period, toner t'' gathers at the lower edge part of the opening part 31a of the development container 31. At this time, the development container 31 is separated from a photosensitive drum and the developing roller 32 is rotated in the opposite direction from the rotation direction in development. Therefore, toner t1 on the developing roller 32 is stopped by a control member 33 to form a thick layer part 5'. Then the developing roller 32 rotates forward and the toner t'' gathering at the lower end part of the opening part 31a of the development container 31 is scraped by the thick layer part t' of the toner t1 by the forward rotation of the developing roller 32 and recovered in the development container 31. Consequently, the toner t' is prevented from falling from the development container 32 and an image is prevented from being stained.
