Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent cassette paper supply from jam in manual paper supply by providing a transfer blocking means for enabling the paper passage through a manual paper supply transfer path in the detection of manual paper supply and blocking said path according to a passage signal. CONSTITUTION:A first transfer path P1 from a cassette paper supply means 20 to a transfer roller 24 and a second transfer path P2 from a manual supply tray 40 to the transfer roller 24 are combined with each other in the transfer roller 24 to provide a transfer path P0 leading to a record section 11. A shutter 41 behind an upper guide 50 in the transfer path P2 is secured fixedly to a rotary shaft 43 and enters a second transfer path P2 the rotation of shaft 43 to abut against a groove 53 in a tray 40. The shutter 41 is normally pulled up by a spring 42. In cassette paper supply, the shutter 41 received the rotation of a transfer roller 54 to enter the transfer path P2 and block the manually supplied paper. In the manual supply, a blank upon reaching right the front of transfer roller 24, is detected by a sensor 54, and the transfer roller 24 is rotated under such condition so that the shutter 41 is adapted to contact the upper surface of record paper with such a pressure as giving no effect to the transfer.
