Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the electric contact life from being shortened by forming the isopropyl benzyl alcohol atmosphere near a contact or in a nearly sealed case storing the contact. CONSTITUTION:A felt 16 impregnated with isoproply benzyl alcohol is arranged near a brush sliding section 3 on a bracket 14, for example, so that the isopropyl benzyl alcohol vapor atmosphere is formed in a case. When isopropyl benzyl alcohol is used, it has oxygen in its molecular structure and is burnt well and offers the remotest chance for the generation of a hard blackened object which is one of abnormal phenomena, even if carbon is generated, it is extremely soft carbon, and the sliding resistance between the brush sliding section 3 and a commutator segment is reduced. The lubrication is thereby improved, and the abrasion of the contact portion is reduced.
