Fire hydrant discharge tester
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To easily conduct a water discharge test alone by fitting a nozzle fixing plate insertable into a tube for an outer fire hydrant and into the connection section of a nozzle tip in common to the case of a splash preventing tube having straightening plates and shunt plates inside. CONSTITUTION: A splash preventing tube 2 is provided with straightening plates 11, 11' expanded in the vertical direction on the opening face 1' side fitted with a nozzle support plate 5 and gradually narrowed toward the other opening face 1 side, the straightening plates 11, 11' are again slightly expanded toward the other opening face 1 side, and a wedge-shaped shunt plate 12 directed with its sharp end to a nozzle tip 8 side is provided at this position. When straightening plates 13, 13' and a shunt plate 14 are provided in the same direction and positional relation and the water from a fire hydrant is discharged from the nozzle tip 8, the flow velocity is sharply reduced, the water is not discharged far from the opening face 1, and a water discharge test can be conducted by oneself. When a hand Pitot gauge is inserted into the rod-like discharged water from the nozzle tip 8, the water discharge quantity and water discharge pressure can be measured.
