Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To surely form an image by arranging a memory eliminating member which is in contact with the surface of an image carrier and on which the voltage of polarity opposite to coloring powder is impressed on the upstream side of an electrostatic charging means and the downstream side of a transfer means. CONSTITUTION:The memory eliminating member 7 which is in contact with the image carrier 2 and on which the voltage of the polarity opposite to the coloring powder is impressed is installed on the upstream side of the electrostatic charging means 3 and the downstream side of the transfer means 6. Since the memory eliminating member 7 electrostatically attracts residual toner which remains much on a photosensitive body 2 after transferring once and naturally discharges it thereafter, the residual coloring powder which remains on the image carrier 2 after transferring can be disturbed. Even if the residual coloring powder exists, the image of former time does not remain and the distinct image can be formed.
