Head control method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To shorten a time for the search of an object track after seek and to realize fast seek, by supplying a learning function to be preserved by applying feedback on an offset value to complement at the time of seeking a head. CONSTITUTION:By calculating the number of seek tracks to an object track address to seek the head and complementing the offset value on the calculated number of tracks, the head is sought. And after the head being sought, and an error between the object track address and a sought track address is calculated, and the correction of the offset value is performed based on the error. In such a way, since the offset value to complement can be set at respective optical disk device in advance, it is not required to consider a difference in individuals of devices, and the optimum value can be obtained in the device, therefore, the fast seek can be realized.
