Vinyl chloride resin composition for medical instrument material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a resin composition for medical instrument material freed of problems of dissolution of a plasticizer itself or exudation of components from a plasticizer by decomposition into the contents such as blood, by mixing an ethylene/carbon monoxide/alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymer with a vinyl chloride polymer. CONSTITUTION:This resin composition for medical instrument material is formed by adding an ethylene/carbon monoxide/alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymer (wherein the alkyl group in the alkyl (meth)acrylate is linear or branched and has 1-18 carbon atoms.) as a plasticizer to a vinyl chloride polymer. The proportion of said copolymer in the vinyl chloride resin composition is about 25-67wt.%. Said vinyl chloride resin is preferably one having a number-average MW in the range of 500-2,000. The proportions of the components in said copolymer is preferably such that ethylene is 60-70wt.%, carbon monoxide is 5-15wt.% and alkyl (meth)acrylate is 20-35wt.%.
