Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To shorten a transfer time without making the image forming device complicated by rotating a transfer drum after transfer at a speed faster than the speed of a photosensitive drum in the opposite direction from the rotating direction of the photosensitive drum by the distance of a medium to be transferred. CONSTITUTION:When toner is transferred to the transfer paper P which sticks on the transfer drum 11 from the photosensitive drum 5, the photosensitive drum 5 and transfer drum 11 are rotated at the same outer peripheral speed V0. Then the transfer drum 11 is rotated faster than the photosensitive drum 5 in the opposite direction by the length of the transfer paper P after the transfer of respective colors. Consequently, the transfer time is shortened. Further, any special circuit, etc., need not be added to control the speed of the transfer drum 11, so the device never becomes complicated.
