Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a photosensitive body from deteriorating by preventing laser light is projected concentrically on an image area on the stationary photosensitive body when a laser beam detecting means (BD) is adjusted. CONSTITUTION:When the BD is adjusted, a BD adjustment mode is specified through a key input part 29 for service mode setting. Here, a microcomputer 27 turns on a laser light source 19 and a polygon mirror 20 according to a sequence stored in a memory 26 and also turns on a photosensitive body drum to rotate the photosensitive drum 11, thereby moving the photosensitive body in a subscanning direction perpendicular to a main scanning direction. Thus, the photosensitive drum 11 is rotated and then light quantity convergence on a fine area is precluded. Consequently, the photosensitive body can be protected from optical deterioration by the laser light.
