Novel tryptophan derivative and glycoside thereof

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula (R1 is H, OH or alkoxy; R2 is acyl; R3 is H, inositol or glucopyranosyl) and glycoside thereof. USE:The above-mentioned compound is used in suppressing alcoholic blood increasing action. PREPARATION:A lower aliphatic alcohol extract of Pueraria lobata Ohwi and Phaseolus Radiates is partitioned with water and other lower alcohol and the resultant water layer is subjected to chromatography and eluted with a mixed solution of water and methanol and further mixed liquid of chloroform, methanol and water and as necessary the eluted product is hydrolyzed to provide the tryptophan derivative expressed by the formula and glycoside thereof.
