Manufacture of rare earth magnet
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve modifiability or plastic processing ability by adding copper to an R-T-M-A system magnet. CONSTITUTION:An alloy indicated by RxT100-x-y-zCuyMzAw (where, x is rare earth element, T is transition metal including Fe as the essential element, M is half metal including B as the essential element, A is Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, Ti, V or Cr, x, y, z, w are expressed by atomic ratios with maximum value 1 in total and in the following relations; 5<=x<=12, 01<=y<=5, 3<=z<=20, 0<w<=10) is rapidly cooled from molten metal and is solidified. A rapidly solidified magnet is then annealed for 0.001-50 hours in the temperature range of 300-900 deg.C under the inactive ambience or the vacuum condition. A stabilized characteristics can be obtained through the heat processing such as annealing.
