Bearing metal fixing device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To assemble a plurality of bearing metals simultaneously with high reliability by constructing a fixing device with a positioning/pushing means for bearing metal such as an engine block, a plurality of vertically movable gripping means and a common opening/closing means. CONSTITUTION:Respective units 5, 5 have such function as bearing required number of bearing metals 40... and assembling them in journal sections 51... a press board 6 is provided with pawls 8... for engaging with an oil groove 41 in the inner face of the bearing metal 40 and positioning the bearing metal axially on the underface thereof, and projections for positioning clamp pawls 14... are formed on the opposite sidefaces. Cam shafts 20, 20 have many cams 21... for functioning onto many clamp pawls 14... and enlarging them simultaneously. With such arrangement, a plurality of bearing metals can be assembled simultaneously in the engine block with high reliability.
