Device for evaluating magnetic disk

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To successively measure and to evaluate frictional force during the test of contact-start-and-stop (CSS) by detecting the frictional force between a head and disk as distortion quantity with a distortion detecting means provided to a pair of plate type elastic members. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic head part 8 of an arm 82, in which a magnetic head 81 is fitted to its tip, a distortion quantity detecting part 7 formed by a pair of plate type elastic members 71 and 72 according to the frictional force between the head 81 and a magnetic disk 6. The distortion quantity of this distortion is measured by distortion gages 75 and 76 provided to the member 72, and converted to an electric signal. Then, the frictional force is continuously measured and evaluated even during the CSS test.
