Method for preventing and treating disease of aquatic organism

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent and treat disease of aquatic organism, by bringing effective amount of culture extract of basidismycetes mycelium into contact with an aquatic organism. CONSTITUTION: Mycelium of basidiomycetes (Lentinus edodes, etc.) is cultivated in a mixed culture medium of small piece of wood (or bagus) hull chaff and/or wheat bran or rice bran and extract obtained by extracting the cultivated product with hot water is used directly or by concentration. The extract is normally used at an amount of 500ccW1,000cc/1t on water/day in terms of extract dope having 1:1 volume ratio of water and mycelium. When the extract is used for prevention, especially is added to a feed, the extract is preferably used at further lower or higher concentration. The method is effective to scale protrusion (curious disease of ornamental fish such as goldfish), Ichthyophthirius multifiliis saprolegniasis, etc. and can be also expected in the effect to ulcer disease in goldfish, carp gill necrosis, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
