Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To insert a thin board reliably between articles to be carried, by arranging projections retractably over a carrying conveyor at two points on a belt running in parallel with the carrying convetor with lower speed and controlling the interval between the articles to be carried. CONSTITUTION: Circular containers 1 are grouped into two longitudinal rows and five lateral rows on a carrying conveyor 2, then they are carried in the direction of an arrow A. Two rotary shafts 3 crossing perpendicularly with direction A are arranged in parallel below the conveyor 2, then a pair of endless chains 5 are entrained around sprockets 4 at the opposite ends of the shaft and run with lower speed than the horizontal conveyor 2. A coupling rod member 7 and a separation member 14 fixed with predetermined interval to the endless chain 5 are projected over the conveyor 2, to brake the container rows 1, 1' so as to enlarge the gap thus inserting a thin board 20 into the gap (l). Then braking is released in the order of the containers 1, 1'. Consequently, a thin board can be inserted and held reliably between articles. It can be preferably adapted for inserting between containers a statement of description or a statement of handling. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
