Auxiliary power type steering mechanism for car
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To simplify a structure by transmitting the movement of a pinion rotated by steering torque to a lever, and actuating a hydraulic valve and an electric sensor means controlling a pump drive motor with the motion of the lever. CONSTITUTION: A pinion shaft 1 displaceable when applied with the reaction of manual steering torque is supported in a housing 2 via a bearing 3, and a lever 4 is provided to be locked by the rotation of the pinion shaft 1. A bulb- shaped portion 7 operated in an opening 8 at one end section of a spool valve 9 and a plate 10 for operating an electric sensor means 11 are provided on the extension portion 6 of the lever 4. The spool valve 9 is provided with a centering mechanism 1 3 assembled with a spring 1 4 returning the spool valve 9 to the neutral position, and the electric sensor means 11 drives a hydraulic pump drive motor prior to the operation of the spool valve 9 when one of microswitches 16, 17 is operated.
