Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To impart a fall preventing function for a person to a safety rope which is almost vertical by providing an energizing means for automatically displacing a slide means to its locked state when applied load needed for holding the stop means in the non-lock state on a longitudinal member is released. CONSTITUTION: When an upward load applied to a stop cam member 25 is opened by releasing the tension of a fastening net, a tension spring 30 moves the cam member 25, whereby a grip part 27 of the stop cam member bites into a wire 11, and a device for forcing the wire to the opposite surface of a slide member 14 is locked on the wire 11. Accordingly, immediately after the tension of the fastening net is released, the device is automatically locked. Any load substantially downward applied to the stop cam member 25 intensifies the action of clamping the wire between the stop cam member 25 and the slide member 14 to give a sure fall preventing function. The slide member 32 is pushed down manually to act on the stop cam member 25 through a tongue part 33, whereby the stop cam member is surely displaced to its lock position. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
