Method for rinsing color rolled and annealed stainless steel strip after pickling

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To carry out efficient descaling at a low cost and to obtain the titled steel strip having superior corrosion resistance by subjecting a stainless steel strip pickled and descaled with a fluoride added nitric acid soln. to washing by scrubber water rinse, immersion in an alkali soln. and further washing by scrubber water rinse. CONSTITUTION:A cold rolled and annealed stainless steel strip is pickled and descaled with a fluoride added nitric acid soln., washed by scrubber water rinse and immersed in a soln. of an alkali such as NaOH, KOH, Na2CO3, NH4OH or Ca(OH)2 adjusted preferably to >=11 pH. The steel strip is then washed again by scrubber water rinse and finally dried.
