Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the operability of an image read device by permitting an attribute storage means to store a binary attribute when a power is turned on. CONSTITUTION: Attribute data which is set from a console panel is stored in the attribute RAM52. A dither ROM54 generates the threshold of a dither pattern 1 or a dither pattern 2 in accordance with the value of attribute information d 0 at the time of selecting dither, and the threshold is generated in the matrix of (m×n). A selector 56 selects the threshold from the dither ROM54 and the binary threshold of in accordance with attribute information d 1 , and transmits them to a comparison circuit 48. If the attribute is dither, data from the ROM54 is transmitted to the comparison circuit 48, and if binary, binary threshold information is transmitted. The comparison circuit 48 compares picture data and the threshold from the selector 56, and transmits it to a selection output circuit 58. It synchronizes inverted or non-inverted data with an effective image signal in accordance with attribute information d 2 , and outputs it to a printer. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
