Radiation measurement system
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To measure the radiation of particles, iodine, and rare gas in the atmosphere of a nuclear reactor containment throughout a normal state and an accident state by providing sampling facilities for continuous measurement and radiation measuring facilities. CONSTITUTION:The atmosphere in the nuclear reactor containment 1 is sampled by a sampling pump 90 in the radiation measuring facilities 4 through a cooling device 6 in sampling facilities 2 for hydrogen and oxygen concentration measurement, and returned to the containment 1. In the measuring facilities 4, the sample gas condition is brought under flow rate control by a pressure reducing device 7 and the pump 90 and also measured continuously by a dust radiation monitor device 10, an iodine radiation monitor device 11, and a rare gas radiation monitor device 12. Consequently, the radiation of particles, iodine, and rare gas is measured throughout the normal and accident state and the need for a leak detection radiation monitor system used exclusively in the normal state is eliminated.
