Manufacture of superconductor film

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a superconductor film of a uniform composition on a substrate of a complicated shape by dissolving a compound containing a component metal N or Cl of the superconductor into an organic solvent, applying the solution on a substrate and firing them. CONSTITUTION:A compound containing a component metal N or Cl of a superconductor is dissolved into a solvent mainly of organic composition to make a solution of a uniform composition. This solution is applied on an intended substrate, dried and fired in an oxidizing atmosphere to accelerate the evaporation, decomposition and oxidation of the solvent and N or Cl to obtain a required composition of the oxide film. Performing the mixture of the component metal at the molecular level, the superconductive material of a uniform composition can be produced. Employing the method of painting, uniformity in the film thickness is obtained and the continuous application of the film on a long strip is possible. This is to make the composition uniform and to cope with the substrate of a complicated shape.
