Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To clean the corona wire of a corona electrostatic charger whenever toner is supplied by allowing an image formation unit which includes at least a developing device to be drawn out of a device main body and providing a cleaning tool which cleans the corona wire of the corona electrostatic charger when the unit is drawn out. CONSTITUTION:When the image formation unit 10 is drawn out in the axial direction of a photosensitive drum 11 at the time of toner supply, the cleaning tool 53 rotates upward. Then as the image formation unit 10 is drawn out, the cleaning tool 53 further rotates upward with the energizing force of a coil spring 54 to abut on a stopper 55, and the tip of the hair implanted part 53a of the cleaning tool 53 abuts on the corona wire 32. When the image formation unit 10 is further drawn out, the hair implanted part 43a is rubbed against the corona wire 32 to remove sticking matter. When the image formation unit 10 is inserted into the machine body, the hair implanted part 53a of the cleaning tool 53 cleans the corona wire 32 as well. Then when the image formation unit 10 is pressed in the machine body inward, the cleaning tool 53 rotates downward against the energizing force of the coil spring 54 and leaves the corona wire 32.
