Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To surely obtain respective colors and to obtain a fine picture by dividing a white light from a light source into color series of R, G, B by using two dichroic mirrors and one total reflection mirror in a device for converting a black and white television picture into a color television picture, enlarging and projecting the picture on a screen and respectively passing them through color filters. CONSTITUTION:The white light from the light source 15 is converged by converging lenses 16, 17 and an ifrared ray is transmitted, but other light is reflected with a reflecting cold mirror 18 and transmitted through a heat ray reflecting filter 20. Then, the R of the light therefrom is reflected on the dichroic mirror 21 is an optical system part 6, the B is reflected on the dichroic mirror 22 and the G is reflected on the total reflection mirror 23 to divide them into three color systems. Thereafter, they are passed through an R color filter 24, a B color filter 25 and a G color filter 26 and made incident on monochrome liquid crystal panels 27, 28, 29 disposed at equal distances from the light source, and the outputs are reflected on the total reflection mirror 33, the dichroic mirrors 34, 35 and projected on the screen by using a projection lens 39.
